Do you know where Tuxedo Park and Embla Park are located? Today they are combined and known as the neighborhood, Wyndhurst. The streets that make up this community are Wyndhurst Avenue, Northern Parkway, Charles Street, and Roland Avenue. This area includes over 300 homes and the shopping center that includes Eddie’s, Starbucks, and the original post office in the area. Need more? This small area also includes Roland Park Public School, Gilman Country School for Boys, the Cathedral for Mary our Queen, the Friends School, and the Roland Park pool.

How are Tuxedo Park and Embla Park technically divided? The old location for the Maryland and Pennsylvania Railroad tracks serve as the division line for these two sections. Also, Embla Park was mainly built before the 20th century and contained more of the larger homes. Tuxedo Park was known for it’s 2-story, cottage-like homes built around 1920.

The Wyndhurst neighborhood is a beautiful suburban-like setting in the city of Baltimore with tree-lined streets and beautiful homes with yards. If you are looking to buy a home and are considering this area, contact me for more information!

Many people have the same question if they are listing their home around the holidays– should we decorate our home for our holidays, or should we forego the tradition so we don’t alienate any possible buyers?

This is a very valid question in today’s day and age with America more diverse than ever with cultures, religions, and beliefs. And, when you are selling your home, you as the seller want to make sure not to alienate anyone that might walk through the doors of your home. Or, at least you may be overly sensitive to wanting to please everyone.

But, should you change your tradition? That’s obviously always up to the individual seller. Maybe the seller doesn’t want to take that chance or doesn’t feel like breaking out the boxes of decorations only to maybe have to take them down soon if their home sells.

Generally, consider it a nice free-be to be selling your home around a holiday– whatever that holiday may be. Buyers want to see a home that they can picture themselves living in– a house that feels like home– and what makes that impression more than one that is nicely decorated? It may be worth it to not go over-board with clutter, but some lights, pumpkins, trees, and candles with holiday scents can instantly brighten a home. A tree can showcase ceiling height, lights on a mantle can highlight the fact that you have a beautiful mantle, and candles can bring a nice glow to your home. A pumpkin centerpiece on a dining table can be a good distraction for a plain room. So, don’t be afraid to pull out whatever tradition your family has when selling your home!

What a little bit of Spanish in your life? La Tasca is a tapas restaurant in downtown Baltimore located on Pratt Street. They have an extensive menu with a many options– so there is something for everyone! Not sure what you want? They have a Tasting Menu as well which is great to be shared with others!
